- 1979-82 Founded and directed BIESDA Language Programs, teaching English conversation and Bible along the Texas-Mexico border, a community service and evangelistic project of the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists; Operated BIESDA Summer Camp summers 80-82; Over 60 student missionaries served at BIESDA; over 70 people baptized through its ministry
- 82-84 Pastor of Brownsville, Texas English Seventh-day Adventist church while continuing as BIESDA Director, Laid groundwork to start church school, Baptized 68 people
- 84-89 Youth Director of Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists; Began yearly Pathfinder Leadership Training & Camporees; Built Pathfinder organization from 524 in 26 clubs to over 2,000 in 86 clubs; Conducted yearly area youth rallies; Initiated Adventist Mission Teams to Belize & Mexico, involving over 2,000 people in 48 projects over the next ten years
